Since it was founded in 1969 to the present day, R. Martínez has grown from a family-run retail fruit and vegetable business into an established group of companies. The company has evolved and expanded, specialising in producing, importing and wholesale distribution of a large variety of market garden produce.
In 1989 it installed its headquarters in Mercabilbao, concentrating on wholesale activities in the north of Spain. In 2002, having consolidated its target market, the company began to extend its scope by marketing its own products.
Also at this time the R. Martínez Group increased its range of services by importing a variety of produce, mainly from Central and South America. The company can now offer almost all the varieties of fruit and vegetables in demand on the market today.
Sol del Sur, part of the R. Martínez group, is involved in producing, importing. exporting, marketing and distributing a wide range of agricultural produce. It has important growing facilities in Morocco and a logistics centre in Adra (Almería), fully equipped with rnodern facilities for cold storage and transport.
In addition to marketing its own products. Sol del Sur offers its storage and distribution services to other companies in the field, both national and international. Furthermore, the company is able to grow produce on demand for a various types of customer.
